my grandson kyle is doing a project on his family history and needed a snack that celebrated his heritage.
since much of that heritage is italian i offered to make some italian cookies.i consulted with my italian coworkers and i was given this recipe for these lemon cookies called tidels.(i made up the spelling)i even got my crayons out to make 24 little italian flags.
good times for gramma:)

Very clever. I guess when I get back you'll bring them as dessert when I have the meeting at my house??? You're such a good grandma.

Aw, the things we do for LOVE! Just thinking of you taking time out of your extremely busy, hectic life...to not only research for the perfect recipe, but to bake the cookies, and then to color all those little flags and painstakingly add one to each cookie. Wow! What a sweet, wonderful, grandmother you are!!! (These images...and the story...would make a great addition to your cookbook project!!!)
