i see this sign at work every day and it still stumps me at least once a week.
i believe it is all in the angle,

Great examples of DOF!
Funny, I've seen this before and I know what it says. When I saw it on the thumbnail of your post, it was a clear as day. When I clicked to open your post and it was more of a close-up, it was nearly impossible to decipher.
Think you're right about the angle. And I think it depends on how close or far away you're looking at it.
Nice post.
Not fair to get us guessing. Like Trish, I don't get it. Very good practice of depth of field.
