for lent i have committed to cleaning out a drawer, a shelf, a closet , something every day. it has been an interesting and formidable task!
i have unearthed a lot of junk, a couple of lost items and a few treasures!
while cleaning the pantry i came across this bottle of kirsch. i am not even sure what it is, but it sure brought back a very nice memory of my daughter.
she taught in a boarding school in switzerland for 2 years. when she came home for christmas she loaded with backpacks, suitcases and gifts. i don't know how she was able to manage everything but somehow she did. in the midst of all her baggage was a very heavy stoneware fondue pot and a bottle of kirsch which is used to make fondue. needless to say ,that christmas we feasted on real swiss fondue. it was delecious.
but the real storey is how emily is always original, fears not and in life just goes for it.she has been such a blessing to me and our family.

When is Emily going to be back? Can you invite her to a meeting?

What a sweet memory! I admire your dedication (to your daily task) as well!

Nice post. Isn't the 'cleaning out' the greatest once it's done?? Can I adopt Emily??

that's such a wonderful idea to do for lent..all i ever think of is what to give up....but i think "cleaning" would be an even greater sacrifice..:)
